Back in January, we had the kids' cousin, Parks, over to play. They also took some time to draw their own monsters:

During the weekend while I suffered through the stomach flu, Adam took the kids downstairs to have what we call a "pizza picnic". We'll order pizza, eat it downstairs on a blanket and watch a movie. They decided to watch "An American Tail" Do you remember this movie?!? I used to LOVE it. Harrison was so cute because he kep calling the little mouse (Fievel) "Bible" so funny...
though I'm not going to post a song from that movie, I thought it would be fun to see what some of the #1 songs were from 1986 - I was 10 years old!! I was amazed at how many of them I remembered - see how you do... and don't be afraid to sing along!

TA - DA!!

After 2 1/2 weeks, 4 days out of our home, 4 more days with only one available bathroom/toilet, many meals at the table...located in the front family room, a couple cuts, and three separate cases of the stomach flu thrown in for fun....we finally got tile laid in our hallway, kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry room!!! I have wanted this for some time now, because our hallway carpet takes ALL the household traffic and was impossible to keep clean! We thought we'd update the other hardsurface rooms while we're at it - I really do love the tile!! (and a lot less vaccuuming)

o.k...this next picture deserves a bit of an explanation. I had to run Harrison and McKenna to playgroup and had told Adam that Tyler was in his chair at the table. I came back 10 minutes later to find Tyler on top of the table and Adam at the other end of the hallway. I just stood there trying to figure out why Adam would've gotten Tyler out of his chair and set him on the tabletop?!? Adam was just as astonished as I when he caught a glimpse of Tyler! I guess he can get out of his chair now - and good thing Harrison's leftover lunch was still there to keep Tyler busy!!

Today, while I was looking for my past yearbooks, I pulled out my memory box. I came across my Depeche Mode music books - whoa brings back some memories from past years. My senior year in High School, me and Lenes went to see them in concert - that was so FUN!! Here are a FEW of my favorite songs from the group (not even close to all my favorites)!! I hope the songs take you back to fun times too!

FLASHBACK FRIDAY

Last week I went to an enrichment activity where we had various ladies tell us their love story with their husbands, families etc...I being one of the lucky speakers. So, I thought, for family history purposes, I would relay the story of Adam and me - and it still makes me smile when I think about it!

It all started back in 7th grade when his gradeschool and my gradeschool joined to go to the same jr. high - South Bonneville Jr High. I met him through classes and thought he was nice and we became friends, sort of...I remember he used to torment one of my good friends by hooking her locker lock on her coat hooks at the top of her locker (which she was too short to reach). At the end of the year, I went through my yearbook and put little things on everyone's pictures....Adam's pic said "perv" (oh how sweet huh?!?)

In 8th grade is when I started to get a crush on Adam - we had more classes together - I remember sitting right next to him in Mrs. Hansen's science class and thinking he looked a lot like Patrick Swayze - HOT!!

Fast forward a few years to our junior year in high school - we still had a good amount of classes together (Mr. Peterson's history, Mrs. Meacham english) we would sit next to each other and talk, give each other back rubs, hand massages (I know, you're all thinking, "get a room!") so the teachers started to tease us about dating...our first date came about in Mr. Peterson's history class. I bet Adam that I could shoot a paperwad in the wastebasket, and if I did, he would have to take me on a date. I made the basket and we were off on a date the next weekend. We went to Frontier Pies for dinner and then a movie (although I don't remember what the movie was) we began "going out" end of that year and had a great summer together!

We dated all our senior year and then into our college years. Adam went on an LDS mission to Brazil for 2 years and I continued on in my education while writing him the whole time.

We started dating when he got back even though he went to school at BYU and I was still at BSU...we got engaged on July 3, 1998 and married August 14, 1998. So, we are coming up on 11 years of marriage in August. Adam truly is and has been my best friend for the longest time!! I love him and hope "our love story" is far from over!
